LSteak Protocol is a fully backed, non-inflationary liquid staking protocol deployed on Base. It is built around two assets: LSTEAK, the core backed token, and xlLSTEAK, a liquid staking derivative whose redemption ratio is designed to rise over time. New LSTEAK is minted only when sufficient backing is provided. Backing is held across DexFi Bernard Bonds, hedge reserves, and treasury-managed assets. The key value anchor is Backing Per Token (BPT), which equals total backing divided by effective circulating LSTEAK supply. User deposits route through a Routing Engine that compares live market price against BPT. When price is near or above BPT, the system can mint new backed LSTEAK. When price is below BPT, it prioritizes market buying instead of minting, helping reduce the gap between market price and backed value without diluting holders. A major yield source is DexFi Bernard Bonds, which generate USDC yield. This yield is processed through LSteak’s drip system and routed into reinforcing sinks including xlLSTEAK redemption ratio growth, backing growth, protocol-owned liquidity, buybacks and burns, and treasury support. xlLSTEAK lets users stake LSTEAK and passively accrue value through an increasing conversion ratio. As yield is added to the xlLSTEAK contract, each xlLSTEAK becomes redeemable for more LSTEAK over time. LSteak avoids emissions, rebases, and inflation-based yield. Instead, it focuses on real-yield generation, backing growth, liquidity reinforcement, and controlled expansion based on actual value entering the system. Safety mechanisms include config locking across core contracts, constrained minting permissions, Chainlink/TWAP pricing, emergency pause functionality, and an audited liquidation framework for orderly wind-down if ever required.
