USD8/USDC
USD8 is a US-dollar stablecoin on Ethereum backed 1:1 by USDC. Anyone can mint USD8 by depositing USDC into the USD8 Treasury and redeem USD8 for USDC at par through the same contract, so one USD8 is always redeemable for one USDC from the reserve. The Treasury keeps the USDC reserve in conservative lending strategies (Aave V3 and Morpho) and uses part of the yield to fund the protocol's insurance system. Holding USD8 accrues an insurance score over time. That score can be used to claim free cover against losses on selected DeFi tokens, paid out from USD8 Cover Pools, without buying a policy. All contracts are open source and verified on Etherscan, Blockscout and Sourcify.
