Albino sea turtles are sea turtles born with albinism, a rare genetic condition that results in little to no melanin (the pigment that gives color to skin, shells, and eyes). They typically have white or pale (often pinkish) skin and shells, with red or pink eyes because blood vessels show through the unpigmented tissue. This is most commonly documented in green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas), though it has been reported in other species such as loggerheads.
