Nimsdai — Nirmal Purja Nirmal “Nims” Purja, widely known as Nimsdai, is a Nepalese mountaineer and former Gurkha soldier who became one of the most renowned high-altitude climbers in the world. He gained worldwide recognition for completing all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks in an unprecedented 6 months and 6 days in 2019, a feat known as Project Possible 14/7. He later completed the full 14-peak collection again, including winter ascents of some of the most difficult mountains. Some of the mountains he has climbed include Mount Everest, K2, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Cho Oyu, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, and Shishapangma. Nims Purja was born in Myagdi, Nepal, and grew up in the Chitwan area. He joined the British Gurkhas and later served in the UK Special Forces before dedicating himself to mountaineering. He became particularly famous for pushing the limits of speed, endurance, and high-altitude climbing, as well as for his strong connection to Nepal and the global mountaineering community. His story was also featured in the Netflix documentary 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, which follows his record-breaking Project Possible expedition. Today, Nimsdai represents courage, resilience, determination, and the spirit of pushing beyond what seems possible. 🏔️🇳🇵
