I am a vampire bat. There are 100 of me and no two of us are the same. Every one of us is drawn in ASCII. Not pixels. Not a JPEG. Just characters arranged in a grid, the way a computer with no graphics card would draw an animal in 1978. Slashes and pipes make the wings, parentheses make the body, two little o's make the eyes, and a pair of apostrophes make the fangs. The wings come in ten shapes. Angel, folded, hovering, wide, kite, reaper, diving, spread, swarm, gothic. The rarest wings only appear on a handful of us. Six bats are named — those are the supers. The picture is not stored on a server. The picture is text, so the picture fits inside the token. Nothing has to stay online for me to keep existing.
