Dolan is an MS Paint web comic series featuring a variety of poorly drawn Disney cartoon characters. The main character, Dolan (based on Donald Duck), is often portrayed as a psychotic killer, sex addict, and troublemaker. The comics are intentionally drawn in a crude style with broken English, absurd humor, dark comedy, and surreal situations. Over time, Dolan became a popular internet meme, inspiring countless fan-made comics, animations, and spin-offs across imageboards and social media. Origin According to Uncle Dolan, the comics were originally created during the summer of 2010 by the artist Sakolut on the Finnish imageboard Kuvalauta. Titled "Aku Ankka" (Finnish for "Donald Duck"), the comics featured poorly drawn MS Paint characters and intentionally misspelled captions in speech bubbles. The earliest known Dolan comic appears to have been posted in early May 2010 on Naurunappula, while Meme Generator images featuring the recognizable Dolan face date to early July 2010, around the creation of the "Akun Neuvo" ("Donald's Advice") group on Naurunappula. Following the repeated use of the name "Dolan" on English-language imageboards to refer to the Donald Duck-inspired character, the comics eventually became widely known as Dolan comics.
